What's included

Painting

• A bisque-fired piece is provided to get you started.

• Additional bisque pieces are available for purchase at $20 a piece.

• Full access to our range of paints and brushes.

Hand-Building

• Create up to three unique hand-built pieces.

  All necessary tools and materials are provided.

For everyone

• Use of all studio paints and brushes.

• A supportive and creative atmosphere.

• Light guidance from me, your studio host.

Glazing options

• Clear glazing and firing for painted pieces is not included. spray glazing is $20 per piece due to the skill, time, glaze and firing required.

• However, if you would like to learn how to brush on clear glaze, this can be arranged. Please schedule a private class with me for $20 during an open studio time.

Important details

Open studio format

• This is an open studio session, meaning there is no formal instruction.

• I will be available to answer basic questions and provide light guidance.

Firing

• Studio clay only: Only pieces created with studio-supplied clay can be fired in our kilns.

• Firing fee: There is an additional cost for firing spraying a clear glaze and firing completed pieces at $20 a piece.

• Structural assessment: We carefully assess each piece for structural soundness before firing.

• Viable firing: Only pieces deemed structurally sound will be fired to ensure the best possible results.

• Recycling encouraged: For hand-building, we encourage you to recycle pieces likely to break during firing.

• Bisque state: Successfully fired pieces will be bisque-fired, making them ready for painting. (Bisque-fired pieces are still fragile.)

• Firing Risks:

  • We cannot compensate for broken pieces.

  • Cracks, breakage, or less-than-ideal results can occur due to clay nature, firing process, or creator skill.

  • We cannot guarantee perfect results.

• Open Studio Discount: If your piece breaks and you'd like to try again, we offer a 20% discount on a future open studio class.
