    Join me for a special afternoon cultural exchange with Chang Mei Yun, a highly respected Taiwanese ceramic artist renowned for her mastery of Fa Hua Cai (slip trailing and floating wash) and blue-and-white porcelain painting.

    This intimate workshop combines a live demonstration with guided hands-on practice, alongside a traditional Chinese tea experience served in the artist’s own tea cups.

  • Talk and demonstration at Clay Pool

    2 hour talk and demonstration · $25

    Tuesday 24 February · 6 - 8pm

    In collaboration with Clay Pool at Botany, my teacher Chang Mei Yun, the national art treasure of Taiwan will give a talk and demonstration.

    She would demonstrate both Fa Hua and Qing Hua techniques, both steeped in Chinese tradition.

    We will finish off with a chinese tea ceremony.

  • Qing Hua blue & white painting

    3 hour class · $79

    Enter the world of blue and white, an introduction to traditional underglaze painting, where the techniques of Qing Hua bring timeless motifs to life.

    Learning floating wash, brush on and outlining techniques.

    You'll be provided drawing templates. You can also bring your own drawing or create from imagination on the day.

  • Chinese tube-lining painting

    3 hour class · $79

    In this hands-on class, you'll learn the foundational techniques of tubelining and floating wash with cobalt oxide underglaze to achieve a cloisonné-like effect, where design elements are separated by clay slip.

    This technique, known as Fa Hua Cai (法華彩), was once lost to history but has since been revived, bringing a traditional Chinese ceramic style back to life.
